Monster Hunter Animated Special to Debut in 2019

Capcom is bringing the world of Monster Hunter to life in the form of a new computer-animated special. Legend of the Guild is marketed as a "special" so we suspect that it won't be a full-on animated film like Capcom's Resident Evil animated 3D movies. "Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild" is being produced in tandem with worldwide developer and publisher Capcom as well as Pure Imagination Studios. The company is collaborating with Pure Imagination Studios, and the special is slated for next year. Joshua Fine, a writer for Starz Ultimate Spider-Man series, is also attached to the project.

Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild will be about a warrior who leaves his small town on a quest to take on one of the series' powerful Elder Dragons. But before that, the company wants to bank on the success of Monster Hunter: World (the fastest-selling title Capcom has ever had).

"We are thrilled to return fans to the universe of Monster Hunter and expand the series' rich lore", said Monster Hunter Series Producer, Ryozo Tsujimoto. The two will meet on August 1 (at 5PM PT) when Eorzea's influence enters the Monster Hunter World universe. In case you missed the initial announcement, players will be able to hunt the Behemoth - a hulking, recurring creature from Square Enix's series.

"At Pure Imagination, we focus on building content driven ecosystems and experiences that can live across multiple platforms of engagement".
