Professor's cat climbs onto his head in TV interview

Polish academic Dr Jerzy Targalski was being interviewed by Dutch television channel Nieuwsuur from his home when his ginger puss, Lisio, chose to perch itself atop the good doctor's noggin.

Lisio the cat has become a national celebrity since he upstaged Dr Targalski during an interview on a Dutch current affairs show, Nieuwsuur.

Political scientist Dr Jerzy Targalski was busy analysing the political situation in Poland, amid a government crackdown on the country's independent supreme court. The orange tabby climbed up Targlaski's arm, took residence on his shoulders, waived its tail right in front of the professor's eyes, and just continued to hang around.

Footage published on Twitter, the Dutch journalist Rudy Bouma.

Apparently, Targalski is a regular commentator on the show and it's not the first time his puss has gatecrashed an interview.

Targalski pushed forward, continuing to discuss the implications of the membership purge on rule of law, completely uninterrupted except to brush the cat's tail from away from his face.
