Liverpool-supporting Tranmere player brands Loris Karius 'f****** s***' after latest error

Jürgen Klopp defended Loris Karius' actions after he made another blunder in goal in a pre-season friendly against Tranmere Rovers.

In the second half, Karius was introduced and was beaten twice as the hosts battled back into the game with the 25-year-old at fault for the first of their goals.

Karius failed to deal with a free-kick from Oliver Norburn and dropped the ball in the path of Jonny Smith, who scored for Tranmere.

"Two brilliant footballers make this mistake, but we don't talk about it".

Ahead of that match, Jurgen Klopp said Karius was "100 per cent" influenced by concussion after a collision with Madrid captain Sergio Ramos during the Champions League final. I would say the second one but we don't talk about that.

"I don't like it, he doesn't like it, but it will happen, so let's carry on and make the best of all these situations by learning from them".

And Klopp replied: "You can all stop that immediately, promise?" You never ask again, that would be one little step!

"It will probably happen for a while until he has a few fantastic games, that's how the situation is". That's our part of the deal.

His performance has inevitably led to speculation that Liverpool FC could be set to look to bring in goalkeeping reinforcements this summer as they look to challenge for the title next season.

As it stands, however, it really doesn't seem like the German fancies any of the 'keepers on the market and as we all know, he's not one to spend for the sake of it but would rather wait for the right man to become available. I watch the games, I lead the sessions and then I make a decision at a specific point, but that's not today and it's not next week so we have still time.
