George Clooney in auto accident in Sardinia, Italy

The daily says the 57-year-old actor had been headed to a film set on Tuesday when his motorbike was hit by a vehicle.

George reportedly felt "a slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm", and was given an MRI at the nearby John Paul II hospital, according to local outlet, La Nuova.

A picture from La Nuova shows a smashed windscreen, which suggests George hit it during the crash, but despite this, his condition is not thought to be serious.

According to the Italian newspaper La Nuova Sardegna, the actor was travelling towards the set of his new television series Catch 22 when his scooter encountered a suddenly turning vehicle.

The American is on location in Sardinia to film a new mini-series "Catch 22". More information is to follow.

The US actor is directing, producing and starring in the six episode miniseries based on Joseph Heller's famous novel.

George Clooney was reportedly involved in a vehicle accident on Monday.

Hugh Laurie also stars as Major de Coverley for the series which has a release date of 2019.

They met when she attended one of his parties at his Lake Como mansion, and Wednesday in Venice a year later.
