Fortnite's Playground mode will be taking another break next week

A message sent from the official Fortnite Twitch channel has confirmed that the popular Playground mode will be a permanent addition to the game, not simply a Limited Time Mode.

The new Playground mode in Fortnite: Battle Royale will go offline on July 12, as developer Epic Games works on the next version.

Although that doesn't sound hopeful, they continued on to state exactly what kind of upgrades would be made."For the next version of Playground we're hoping to include functionality that would allow team selection options within the Playground itself".

Playground mode allowed players to build anything with up to three other friends but whatever was created would get wiped away after an hour.

"1v1s and 2v2s, Aim assist for controllers, Editing other player's structures, Traps affecting teammates/enemies correctly, Highlighting teammates on the map, Damaging enemies with your pickaxe". Epic has said the mode will return as it turns Playground into a full-fledged creative sandbox.

This image was posted to Reddit immediately, and fans on the dedicated Fortnite Battle Royale subreddit have been responding very positively to the news.

Another adds: "Yeah, it would be cool to be able to save some of these maps so they can be used again".

However, the prospect of losing access to Playground in the near future resulted in Internet begging, with fans requesting (and demanding) that Epic leave Playground as a permanent installation.
