Trump hits back at ‘Punchy‘ De Niro

Hell, the man has appeared in Heat, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Deer Hunter and countless others, but you would think that his recent "Fuck Trump!" comments at the Tony Awards would be pretty low on the agenda of the United States president - especially given the importance of his recent meeting with Kim Jong-un in Singapore.

The actor was bleeped when he used the F-word.

"Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received to [sic] many shots to the head by real boxers in movies".

Next day, appearing at a NOBU restaurant-hotel-condo launch in Toronto, De Niro apologized to Canadians for Trump's "disgusting" blast of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the recent G7. "I watched him last night and truly believe me may be 'punch-drunk'". "Fuck Trump. It's no longer down with Trump".

As he spoke, he raised his fists into the air, taking in the shock, awe, and admiration from the audience at Radio City Music Hall. In January of this year, the actor called Trump a "f**king idiot" in a profanity-laced rant.

De Niro is a seven-time Academy Award nominee, and won Oscars for playing Vito Corleone in "The Godfather Part II" and Jake LaMotta in "Raging Bull".

Ahead of the 2016 presidential election, De Niro said he'd like to "punch [Trump] in the face".

In 2009, he was among the five recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors, presented by then-President Obama.
