Power from the 5.2-liter flat-plane-crank V8 stays the same at 526 hp at 8,250 rpm and 429 lb-ft. The naturally aspirated 5,2-litre V8 delivers the same 392 kW and 581 N.m as before, and is again mated to six-speed manual transmission from Tremec.

Ford furthermore says the Mustang Shelby GT350's standard MagneRide active suspension has been updated with recalibrated springs and revised damping.

However, it appears the 2019 GT350 goes without the design changes seen in the revised Mustang range, meaning the headlights and tail-lights are carried over from the outgoing model.

"It's a rewarding auto to drive on track for amateurs and pros alike, while making the driver feel like a superhero".

What's New: For the new model year, Ford Performance chose to focus on improving the GT350's handling characteristics, improving aerodynamics, suspension, brakes, and tires. "It's confidence inspiring in corners and begs to be pushed harder and to take corners faster".

Borrowing aerodynamic advancements from the upcoming Shelby GT500, the refreshed GT350 benefits from an all-new rear spoiler and optional Gurney flap for improved downforce and reduced air resistance.

The auto Ford showed off at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan - we were there to drive the Mustang GT Performance Pack Level 2 - didn't have the interior upgrades yet. New Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with a Shelby-specific tread pattern - 295/35 front and 305/35 rear - wrap around new 19-inch aluminum wheels.

Inside, fresh styling cues include machined aluminium trim and newly designed door panel inserts in suede. The vehicle also comes with additional standard equipment including a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a universal garage door opener and an 8-inch SYNC 3 infotainment system.

On the exterior, two new colors are now available: Velocity Blue and Ford Performance Blue. Optional factory-painted over-the-top racing stripes are available in high-gloss Shadow Black, Oxford White or Kona Blue.

"The new Shelby GT350 is our ultimate track Mustang".

The 2019 Ford Mustang GT350 will first become available early next year.

"Along with improved grip, brake and chassis refinements, Shelby GT350 brings a whole new level of performance driving", Billy Johnson, driver for FIA World Endurance Ford GT and IMSA Mustang GT4, said in a corresponding news release.
