President Trump tweets economic adviser Larry Kudlow hospitalized after heart attack

U.S. President Donald Trump's chief economic advisor, a key player in the White House's trade war who blasted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over the weekend, suffered a heart attack Monday evening.

"Our Great Larry Kudlow, who has been working so hard on trade and the economy, has just suffered a heart attack", the President wrote, minutes before heading into a meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-il in Singapore.

Kudlow, though only on the job since March, has become a popular figure in the White House who is known for gregarious and seasoned manner in an administration frequently riven by rivalries and disputes. The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center is in suburban Maryland.

The meeting was shadowed by the Trump administration's escalation of rhetoric on trade and tariffs and splintered shortly after the president left Quebec and tweeted he was pulling back his approval of a joint statement by the group.

Trudeau, in a news conference on Saturday, reiterated his strong objections to steep tariffs on Canadian exports of steel and aluminum to the United States.

As a commentator, Kudlow had strongly backed Trump's moves to cut taxes and reduce business regulations but was openly critical toward the president's tariffs moves.

There was no additional information from the White House or second source, rather it was only Trump's twitter account.
