Could Liverpool accidentally help Manchester United sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic?

The Serbian has shot to limelight after an incredible season with Lazio.

Real Madrid are preparing a massive £132m bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to blow Manchester United out of the race.

Milinkovic-Savic has made 94 appearances and scored 17 goals for Lazio since joining from Genk in 2015.

Savic is strong in the air, physically imposing and has great technical ability.

Letting him join Lazio could have the biggest risk of all, if it helps rivals Manchester United clinch their biggest signing of the summer.

The powerful midfielder is a summer target for Real Madrid and Juventus, and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the Lazio star.

United have begun their midfield overhaul with the £52m signing of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk. Los Blancos are readying a €150 million offer to secure the services of the Lazio midfielder.

But Milinkovic-Savic has played down any chance of a move before the World Cup, by saying he is focused on representing Serbia rather than his club future, which will be sorted after the tournament.

The 13 time UEFA Champions League winners, who are without a head coach at the moment, are looking to bolster their squad this summer having not spent much money in the last two years.

A good showing in Russian Federation with Serbia could further increase the interest in him as well as Lazio's asking price.

Savic has the potential to become one of Europe's best midfielders and his potential transfer could be set to become the biggest saga of the summer. Madrid, however, will have no problem in matching Milinkovic-Savic's evaluation.
