Beyond Good and Evil 2 Shows Off Katana-Wielding, Domz-Flanked Jade

With the prequel for 2003's Beyond Good & Evil having been stuck in development hell for over a decade, telltale signs of its release have kept the embers of hope glowing for fans of the cult classic, and at E3, Ubisoft has deemed that the time is right to share another trailer with us. Gotta say, the Beyond Good and Evil 2 certainly isn't lacking in artistic talent.

Among other coming games shown off by Ubisoft was psychological thriller "Transference", a collaboration with another Hollywood star Elijah Wood, which will see players grapple with twists and mysteries in a deranged mind. Out of the smoke comes Jade, the original protagonist from the past games, looking awesome but also a little evil too which is pretty cray cray. Players of Beyond Good and Evil 2 will be able to experience Jade's checkered past as it unfolds. We get a glimpse at the ship's sick bay, which is filled with crew members who've fallen sick and drunk from the cook's "miraculous space chili". There wasn't much word as to the details of her involvement in the sequel, but she seems to be playing a major role in Beyond Good and Evil 2's narrative. That experience can be solo or with friends in multiplayer.

Ubisoft is taking that process one step further by partnering with HitRECord - a collaborative creative platform founded by Joseph Gordon-Levitt - and inviting artists to create content for the game, such as poster designs, radio ads, and music. This is all being fascilitated through Ubisoft's Space Monkeys community program. The best stuff will appear in Beyond Good and Evil 2, giving the game a "real world" connection.
