An assessment is due this week to figure out if he can be fit in time for the upcoming five-match ODI series against Australia, starting June 13.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes had been ruled out the one-day global against Scotland next weekend and the "first part" of the five-match series against Australia with a torn hamstring, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced Sunday.

Woakes has been diagnosed with a tight right quad following the innings and 55-run win over Pakistan in Leeds, which squared the series at 1-1.

Stokes will also miss the first-half of the five-match series against Australia with a torn hamstring.

"Stokes, who sustained the injury in the build-up to the NatWest Test match at Headingley against Pakistan, will be assessed later this week", read the European Central Bank statement.

England are attempting to draw level in the two-match series after suffering a nine-wicket defeat at Lord's.

The all-rounder suffered a torn hamstring in the build-up to this week's second Test against Pakistan and will return to his county side Durham on Monday to continue his rehabilitation.
