Israel launches world's FIRST strikes with 1200mph supersonic F-35 fighter jets

Israel has praised the Lockheed Martin F-35 as a "game-changer".

Major-General Amikam Norkin said Israel is operating the fighter planes "all over the Middle East" and have used them in attacks on two different fronts - believed to be Syria and Lebanon.

Israel, the first country outside the U.S. to acquire the single-seat fighter, has received nine of the 50 F-35s it has so far ordered, and could take up to 75.

The stealth fighters are operated by the air force's Golden Eagle Squadron, based in the Nevatim Air Base in central Israel.

"After [the Iranian attack] we attacked over 20 Iranian targets in Syria".

He also claimed that 100 Syrian anti-aircraft missiles were fired at Israeli jets during its retaliatory strike. We intercepted four of them and the rest fell outside Israeli territory.

Those strikes followed a barrage of rockets that Israel said was sacked toward its forces in the occupied Golan Heights by Iran from Syria.

The Lebanese Hezbollah terror group, a close ally of both Iran and Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, said last week that Israel had lied about the extent of the Iranian attack.

Iran and Syria accuse the Israelis of violating worldwide law by its continued involvement in Syria and say it simply uses any pretext it can concoct to hurt Syria.

Twenty three fighters, including five Syrian regime troops and 18 other allied forces were said to have been killed in the Israeli attack. No injuries were reported on the Israeli side. According to the new Information released by Norkin on Monday, "more than 100" missiles were launched at IAF planes, which appears to be an increase from earlier figures.

He then went on to describe the series of events on 9 and 10 May. Tehran had since repeatedly vowed revenge.

"Given the civil war in Syria and the expansion of Iranian influence in Syria, the United States should recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights", the amendment adds. It was seemingly the first time Israel attributed an attack directly to Iran rather than its proxies.

Russian Federation is keeping its distance from the brewing Iran-Israel proxy war in Syria, but has warned on many occasions that Israeli interference may set back the security situation there, plunging the country back into chaos.

Israel recently carried out scores of air strikes in Syria.
