Celebrity chef Mario Batali investigated over alleged sexual misconduct

Just- you know, we were saying something just to snap him out of this.

Jamie Seet: No doubt. "My past behaviour has been deeply inappropriate and I am sincerely remorseful for my actions". "I couldn't. I- I couldn't do it", she said. Seet, Natalie Saibel, and other female employees came forward after they realized they all had awful stories of sexual misconduct, after the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault allegations catalyzed the Me Too movement. She claims he invited her to a party at The Spotted Pig, a restaurant he's invested in. They referred to him as the "red menace" and a "monster".

The New York Times reported in December on claims by several current and former employees that they had been sexually harassed by Mr. Friedman and some of his guests, including Mr. Batali, at the Spotted Pig and other Friedman-Bloomfield restaurants. To make matters worse, the alleged assault took place in a third floor space, infamously known by employees as the "rape room". I see damaged bottles. "The first thing I think is, 'I've been drugged.' That was the first thing I thought is, 'I've been-I've been assaulted'". "It looked like DNA". Michael Ellis, global director of the Michelin guide, says more and more women are entering culinary schools - and it won't be long before more women end up running kitchens.

Citing an unidentified source, the newspaper reported that a woman told police two months ago that she had been assaulted by Batali at his Babbo restaurant in 2004. We're told the next thing she remembers is Batali on top of her, having sex with her. and she was physically helpless. Now, the disgraced chef is under criminal investigation by the New York Police Department.

Woman: They tried getting me to file a report. They tried, they tried.

"A young actress, no resources, no money". I couldn't. I- I couldn't do it.

Speaking to Anderson Cooper for CBS News' "60 Minutes", the woman explained of the incident, which is said to have happened at The Spotted Pig: "It gets completely foggy for me". "I am not attempting a professional comeback".

B&B Hospitality Group said in a statement on Tuesday that it was ending its partnership with Batali after the "60 Minutes" report.

That report prompted a statement from Batali to CNNMoney where he said he took full responsibility and is "deeply sorry for any pain, humiliation or discomfort I have caused to my peers, employees, customers, friends and family".

It is unclear the exact nature of the sexual misconduct allegations the NYPD is now investigating and what charges Batali may ultimately face.

It added he had already signed a letter of intent with Bastianich setting out the broad terms of his divestment. The woman remembers drinking wine with Batali at a table on the second floor of the restaurant before blacking out.

One woman who worked at Babbo in NY also recounted to "60 Minutes" an evening she spent with Batali, in which she blacked out and woke up in a odd place and found semen on her skirt.
