New Nokia X6 model spotted online; possible global variant

According to the certification page, the device's product name is the Nokia X6.

But in case you didn't realize how insane popular Nokia-branded phones have become of late, it seems the freshly unveiled X6 will pull off the impossible.

We keep on receiving many tips from our readers and from those who have or claim to have knowledge of HMD's plans about new Nokia Phones.

While the Nokia X6 debuted in China just earlier this week, speculations around its global rollout have started reaching new heights as HMD Global CPO Juho Sarvikas kicked off a poll on Twitter on Friday to start asking whether the new handset should reach other markets. Moreover, the demand for budget smartphones under Rs 20000 is higher than that of a premium device. The Finnish company on Thursday announced the Nokia X6's existence in China. The Nokia X6 follows the trend for less bezel and more screen, with the 19:9 full HD+ display.

The Nokia X6 has a 5.8 inch TFT display with a 2280 x 1080 px resolution.

The device employs an octa-core Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage capacity expandable up to 256GB. We are still a couple of years away from budget smartphones adopting the USB C port altogether but, this is a great step by HMD Global.

At the tear, there's a dual camera combo: one 16MP sensor hiding behind a f/2.0 lens, and a smaller 5MP monochrome camera with a f/2.2 lens.

Nokia X6 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and is upgradeable to Android P. The dual-SIM smartphone supports VoLTE connectivity on both the SIM cards at the same time.

The vertically placed dual-camera setup is in the usual Nokia position but, the "Carl Zeiss" branding is missing.

Biometrics: Fingerprint scanner on back, front camera can be used for face-unlock. This could still hold true - HMD Global may still launch the X5 and X7 at some point.
