Rangers All-Star back on DL with hamstring strain

The Texas Rangers put the third baseman back on the DL, two days after he aggravated his left hamstring injury. Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News tweets that Beltre conceded that he may need to be more open to spending time as the designated hitter. The 25-year-old missed all of last season due to shoulder issues and was non-tendered this winter but re-signed on a minor league pact. He got hurt on a defensive play in the seventh inning of a loss at Houston on Sunday.

Adrian Beltre's return from the disabled list was short lived. Isiah Kiner-Falefa is covering the hot corner against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday and the Rangers called up Hanser Alberto from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding roster move.

Beltre had said after the game Sunday that it felt like the soreness this time was in a different spot.

When he has been healthy enough to be in the lineup, Beltre has been productive, batting.314/.375/.422 with a home run and 12 RBI in 120 plate appearances.
