Garcia was identified as the victim of the attack on Tuesday.

"Unfortunately, yes, we had to shoot one dog", said Bryant. After they were captured, police transported the remaining six animals to a nearby Veterinary Hospital where they were euthanised at the owner's request.

According to a WCMH-TV report, Tracy Garcia, 52, died earlier this month after being attacked by the pack of dogs. She later died at the hospital.

Six appeared to be mixed with an unidentified breed of terrier, and the largest could have been a border collie cross, but all the animals weighed less than 40lb and none were taller than knee-height.

Dinwiddie claimed the dogs-three females and four males-ranged in age from a year to about three years.

Carter County Sheriff Chris Bryant described the scene, including what lead to police shooting one of the dogs, in a media appearance following the incident.

Layton also claimed all seven dogs were infested with fleas and ticks.

She added that because of the costs involved, coupled with the circumstances, none of the dogs would be tested for rabies. "This is just a bad deal all the way around". "They are very covered, you can tell they have been living out in the woods".

Bryant said autopsy results and other information regarding the case to the District Attorney's Office by Thursday. She went to work for Indian Health Care and Resource Center in Tulsa, Okla., for many years...

Most recently, Garcia worked as a housekeeper at the Hilton Inn in Ardmore, Oklahoma, in order to support her family financially.
