Browns Selected as Featured Team for 2018 Season of 'Hard Knocks'

Obviously, the Browns did meet any of those requirements with one win in two seasons and head coach Hue Jackson entering his third year.

The documentary TV show, which started in 2001, follows one National Football League team through training camp.

The Cleveland Browns reportedly will be announced Thursday as the featured team on the 2018 season of HBO's Hard Knocks, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Browns have renewed optimism following the recent draft and are granting HBO unlimited access to its upcoming camp.

HBO's cameras are certain to focus on Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield, the brash Heisman Trophy victor from Oklahoma recently selected first overall. A person familiar with the decision says the Browns will appear on HBO's "Hard Knocks" this season.

It will be the first time the Browns, who finished 0-16 previous year under coach Hue Jackson, will appear on the series, which is airing for the 13th time.

Only six teams were eligible for "Hard Knocks" this summer.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were featured a year ago.

Browns general manager John Dorsey had expressed reservations about appearing on the series.
