898763 students appeared for the class 12 examination in Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Board 2018 examination was conducted under the guidance of the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE), Tamil Nadu, between March 1 and April 6, 2018, across the state at 2,794 exam centres.

Meanwhile, girls continued to outshine boys, with 94.1 per cent pass percentage, which was 6.4 percentage points more than the number for boys, according to statistics released by the state government, PTI reported.

Nearly 866,000 class 12th students have appeared for the exam.

In 2015, the overall pass percentage was 90.6% in which girls achieved a pass percentage of 93% and boys secured 87%. At the time of the formal announcement of the result, the official website might be slow due to some technical glitches.

The Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination result will be declared at 9:30 AM today by the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) Tamil Nadu.

Senottaiyan said, "CBSE is already following this, and why because other students who get even one mark less (than the rank holders) face severe stress". The school board of education sited in Tamil Nadu is referred to as TNBSE. The scores are considered as a valid merit for admissions in universities and schools across the state.
