Killeya-Jones, former VES standout, headed to NC State

Sacha Killeya-Jones announced last month that he meant to transfer from Kentucky, and now that transfer destination is known.

Killeya-Jones has chose to join North Carolina State and coach Kevin Keatts.

With both Lockett and Killeya-Jones coming in as scholarship players, NC State is now up to 14 scholarship athletes if guard Torin Dorn decides to return. On non-post-up attempts at the basket, Killeya-Jones shot 74.4 percent (32-of-43). He will have two years of eligibility left when he suits up for the Wolfpack in the 2019-20 season.

As a sophomore, the 6-foot-10, 220-pound forward averaged 3.3 points and 2.9 rebounds per game in about 13.7 minutes per game for John Calipari's Wildcats.

Killeya-Jones adds to a frontcourt that already features junior center Omer Yurtseven and junior forward Darius Hicks.

In the tweet, Killeya-Jones said, "Extremely excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at NC State University!"

"The past two years at Kentucky have been an incredible journey and I want to thank all my coaches, teammates and fans who made it possible", Killeya-Jones said.
