Fuel prices hike: Rahul Gandhi accuses Narendra Modi of fooling people

"Anybody can become PM in our country".

The Congress on Monday attacked the Modi government for hiking fuel prices, with party president Rahul Gandhi alleging that befooling people is the key principle of "Modinomics". "Naamdar, Kaamdar, Daamdar or for that matter any average Samajhdar can become Prime Minister if he has the numbers & support". "Anything can happen. Being PM does not make anyone the wisest in the country. for being PM requires no qualification. only majority...while for becoming Shankaracharya one requires great wisdom, experience and statesmanship", Sinha tweeted. It was not able to match BJP's "carpet bombing" strategy of deploying its national leaders across the state and targeting the Congress and its government as 'anti-Hindu. "You (Gandhi) are naamdar', while I am kaamdar' (ordinary worker)", he had said earlier.

"Instead of answering we go for "Attention Diversion Politics" - an art which we have mastered, far from development and other issues. What's wrong if the president of biggest, oldest national party sees the possibility and wishes to be next PM, if he wins the upcoming elections?"

The BJP MP appreciating Rahul Gandhi for his pertinent questions said: "By the way, the president of the oldest party has really matured in last few years & has been raising some pertinent question which we are refusing to answer or even entertain".

"2019 is going to be BJP versus nobody, Modi versus nobody", said his party colleague Seshadri Chari.

What happens if your definition changes after results and your PPP becomes of the People by the People and for the People, or for that matter turns into Popular People's Party, he said, again tagging Modi. "Who knows where they will end up?" said Mr Singh, a three-time Chief Minister who was among the long list of BJP heavyweights to campaign in Karnataka.
