Nigeria begin their 2018 Fifa World Cup campaign against Croatia on June 16 at the Kaliningrad Stadium before facing Iceland (June 22) and Argentina (June 26) in Volgograd and Saint Petersburg respectively.

Okala said that he personally saw the provisional list as a good list "with lots of hope in it". "I wish all the invited players best of luck", told ScoreNigeria.

Okala, who is the longest goalkeeper for Nigeria, however, said that he was happy for the new entrants into the squad - Junior Lokosa and Simeon Nwankwo.

"Today, that forecast I made about the lad then is manifesting".

"I pray he joins other great and wonderful players in the team to make Nigerians proud, " he added.

Super Eagles Technical Adviser Gernot Rohr, yesterday named a 30-man provisional squad for next month's FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation, with Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) leading goals scorer Junior Lokosa and Plateau United first choice goaltender Dele Ajiboye making the list.

It included Goalkeepers - Francis Uzoho, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel Akpeyi and Dele Ajiboye.

The 30-man provisional list cntains regular suspects such as Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Ogenyi Onazi and so on, but the surprise of the pack is the inclusion of Junior Lokosa, Kano Pillars striker.

The defenders are Elderson Echiejile, Shehu Abdullahi, Ola Aina, William Troost Ekong, Leon Balogun, Tyronne Ebuehi, Bryan Idowu, Chidozie Awaziem, Stephen Eze and Kenneth Omeruo.

Legendary Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai would not go with the popular call for Francis Uzoho to be the anointed first choice goalkeeper at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
