Eden Hazard confesses to bad season as he delivers Chelsea ultimatum

Chelsea ace Eden Hazard is demanding the club show ambition in the summer market.

The Belgian playmaker has a contract that runs until 2020 but is concerned after Chelsea had a troubled couple of transfer windows either side of the departure of Michael Emenalo, the technical director, in November.

The Belgian has two years remaining on his current deal, worth around £200,000-per-week, and does not expect the FA Cup final at Wembley against Manchester United on Saturday to be his last game for the club, but expects some significant improvements to the squad who fell well short this season. "It's the last game of the season, that's it", he said. After the World Cup we will be ready for the next season.

Hazard, 27, has always been linked with a move to the Spanish giants and there is bound to be plenty of fresh speculation linking him with a switch to the Bernabeu after Chelsea FC missed out on qualification for the Champions League.

Despite not being named in the best XI this season, he is still clearly impressing his opponents in the Premier League. You never know what's happening.

Chelsea won the Premier League in Conte's first season as head coach for Hazard's second championship winners' medal in England. When you play for Chelsea you know the job. We have not qualified for the Champions League, so this season has been bad. Hazard, who signed from Lille for £32million in 2012, has won everything at the club apart from the Champions League and FA Cup.

"Like I've said many times before, I think the FA Cup final is not my last game for Chelsea", he said. So, we will give everything.

A 3-0 loss at Newcastle on Sunday extinguished slim hopes of Champions League qualification as the Blues finished fifth. "It was not a good performance".

"It's up to us to save the season with the FA Cup". The 26-year-old is out of contract in June 2019 and - if he does not extend his deal - Chelsea may opt to sell.

Bale has been linked with a switch away from Real Madrid recently after he struggled for both form and fitness this season. He spent three years on loan at Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea face familiar foes in Mourinho and former Blues Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku, if fit, and Juan Mata, if selected.
