'Overwatch' Devs Tease Doomfist Tuxedo Skin, How Anniversary Loot Works

Blizzard can celebrate more than just Overwatch's anniversary this week. While Blizzard remains tight-lipped about specifics, Game Director Jeff Kaplan commented on the rising demand for a Tuxedo Doomfist skin in the most recent Developer Update video. "There are some really fun gameplay elements to it, as well".

After spreading his appreciation for the fans, he gave some more insight on Petra, the new deathmatch-exclusive map. We think you'll find that very fun. He then promised great diversity in the map for both short-range heroes and snipers, which is great for all the Hanzo 2.0 mains out there. There's parts of the map that are great for short-ranged heroes. What we do know is the game has a LOT of players. He also talks about the first ever free for all deathmatch season which will take place on the Chateaux and Petra maps. The season will unfold on Petra and Chateau.

"We now have 40 million players, which is fantastic", said Kaplan, "and this is a great opportunity for us, the Overwatch team, to celebrate you all and all the unbelievable things you have done for the game".

As if it needed to be said, Overwatch has proven to be an incredibly successful venture for Blizzard, with the studio set to celebrate the team-based shooter's second year of availability soon by way of an official Anniversary event at the end of this month.

The Anniversary event will bring back previous seasonal cosmetic items, including your favourite dance emotes from last year's celebration. Past seasonal items will also be available in any loot box earned over the course of the Overwatch Anniversary event.
