Chelsea's recovery of form is too little, too late in lost season

Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte has suggested that his team will face a tough test at Swansea City in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Chelsea retain the slimmest hopes of playing in the Champions League next season as they travel to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

The dethroned Premier League champions will need to win all their remaining four matches and hope Spurs stumble on the way to claim a top four spot which will guarantee participation in the Champions League next season.

"First of all, we have to try to get three points tomorrow". They are in good form.

"We want all the players available of course", the Portuguese manager added.

"Now the reality that Tottenham have a big advantage is that they have five points more than us. But if we want to continue to have hope of a place in the Champions League we need to get three points and try to put pressure on the teams ahead of us". Otherwise it will be very hard to put pressure on Tottenham.

Swansea, who are 17th in the table and four points clear of the relegation zone, have picked up 13 points from their last five home matches.

"To be honest, I am not interested in the stats". As it stands Chelsea qualifying for the Champions League will be a miracle as they must travel to play an improved Swansea and a hard Newcastle side before the season is out 3. "If you ask me how many appearances I had I don't know, or goals did I score, I don't know", he stated.

"My line-up, or the idea for the line-up is to win the game - that's the only thing I can think about". Although their focus is now exclusively on finishing in the top four, their inability to win decisive games such as the FA Cup semifinal with Manchester United or their Champions League tie with Juventus hints at a possible lack of self-belief at key moments.

"Last season we won the Premier League, this season in the league we are struggling, we are struggling a lot".
