New LCD model iPhone rumors

As per Kuo, the phone will sport a stronger display glass which will not only be lighter but also more robust.

Back in January, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted that the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone won't feature Apple's pressure-sensitive display feature called 3D Touch.

The two new models of the iPhone are expected to release in 2018, one with the 5.8 inch OLED iPhone X successor and the other one is the 6.5 inch OLED device to be tagged as iPhone X plus. For example, lightly tapping an app icon on an iPhone home screen will open the app, but pressing firmly on the icon will open a menu of shortcuts and widgets.

Apple has just launched the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus (Product) RED in India.

Since the whole point of this LCD iPhone is to keep it affordable to battle the likes of the upcoming OnePlus 6 and other similarly priced Android smartphones, Apple will omit 3D Touch in this model, which will likely keep the costs in check while adopting the newer technology.

Along with the touch film sensor, Apple will allegedly add a thin film sensor as well. We are still in the dark about what this sensor is for, however, we do know it will increase the cost of the touch panel by 15%, resulting in a higher purchase price of $23 to $26.

The iPhone 6s debuted one of the most revolutionary technologies that became key to an iPhone's appeal - 3D Touch. However, Kuo says that Apple wants to incorporate CGS technology to all of its future iPhone models starting in 2019. However, insider information suggests that Apple could ditch 3D Touch for one of its mainstream iPhone models, along with its rumoured budget iPhone SE 2, for this year's lineup.

3D Touch is quite possibly the most underappreciated technologies Apple has developed in the past decade, and that's entirely Apple's fault.
