The First Trailer For Crazy Rich Asians Has Arrived

The Jon M. Chu-directed film, set to air in August in Singapore and the United States, follows the lives of the ultra-rich in Singapore and the region.

Fresh Off The Boat star Constance Wu describes her boyfriend as "the Prince William of Asia" in the first full-length trailer for Crazy Rich Asians.

Crazy Rich Asians is due to be released in United Kingdom cinemas in August. "We've been dating for about a year now, and it's about time people met my attractive girlfriend".

It quickly turns Rachel into the talk of the town and a fish out of water as she tries to navigate social niceties with her less-than-welcoming possible future mother-in-law and other characters of Asia's high society.

Being on Nick's arm puts a target on Rachel's back, with jealous socialites and, worse, Nick's own disapproving mother Elenor (Michelle Yeoh) taking aim.

The trailer ends by teasing the tension between Rachel and Nick's mother, one of the central conflicts in Crazy Rich Asians. "I'm much more of a Harry". "If Nick chose me, he would lose his family", Rachel tells Eleanor. It's a complicated enough step in any relationship, but it gets, well, crazy, if one of the parties (in this case, Nick), apparently comes from Singapore's economic top-tier.

Apart from aforementioned stars, the cast also has Ken Jeong, Gemma Chan and Jimmy O. Yang playing pivotal roles.

It also features local actresses Fiona Xie and Tan Kheng Hua, local actor Pierre Png and blogshop model Constance Lau.
