Jamie Oliver's Australian restaurant business has collapsed into voluntary administration

Aramark said that the 10-year partnership would provide the opportunity to introduce high street branded concepts such as Jamie Oliver's Diner and Jamie's Deli into its client sites in the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe, to complement its own brands.

"Australia has and continues to be one of our best performing worldwide markets and, after a short period of in-house management we are pleased to be partnering with Hallmark", says Ben Shaughnessy, COO of the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group Australia.

The celebrity chef's United Kingdom restaurants have been in financial strife amid rising costs and consumer caution, partly as a result of the Brexit vote, and his Canberra venue has now been closed.

Jamie's Italian restaurants in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Parramatta and Adelaide will now operate under Hallmark Group, and the Canberra restaurant is the only Australian Jamie's Italian franchise to close.

A statement by his restaurant group said Australia was still one of his best performing global markets.

Pty Ltd collapsed on Monday, with the company being placed in the hands of voluntary administrators less than 12 months after the British celebrity chef visited Australia to relaunch the six local restaurants bearing his name.

"The team brings a huge amount of experience and passion for our brand, from collaborating with the key suppliers to our food philosophy", the spokesperson said.

They also announced that Brisbane-based Hallmark Group would take over operating the Australian franchise of the Italian chain.
