Kerala: New born baby found inside toilet duct

Shocked plumbers tried to remove the baby but failed as the placenta thread was still stuck to the baby and caught in the dirt.

According to the reports, the shocking incident came into light after the Clinic's owner Doctor Abdul Rahman called in plumbers to unclog the pipes passage after he noticed some kind of blockage in the toilet, Mirror Now reports.

A two-day-old girl in Palakkad, Kerala was flushed down a toilet and recovered when plumbers tried to clear the clogged passage. However, the police said it was actually blood from when they believe the mother delivered the baby in the toilet.

Dr Abdul Rahman, who runs the clinic, called the plumber when he noticed an obstruction in the toilet bowl. "Investigations are underway. We are analysing the records, but we haven't been able to identify her parents yet", police sources told NDTV.

The body was taken to a medical college in Thrissur where post-mortem was conducted, DNA reported.

Dr Rehman lodged a complaint and a case of unnatural death was filed.

'There wasn't much of a foul smell emanating from the toilet. Investigators are also checking records of all the patients, who visited the clinic recently. The body hadn't decomposed when we recovered it. The report said the placenta of the baby was intact, which raised suspicions that it might have been dumped soon after birth, according to the report. "Seeing the color of the blood, the domestic worker mistook it for muddy water".
