As the first black woman to headline Coachella in the fest's 19-year history, Bey also took the opportunity to pay homage to black leaders and visionaries who've inspired her own artistry.

Hubby Jay-Z and sister Solange Knowles also made an appearnance on stage, while B surprised fans with a reunion with fomer Destiny's Child band-mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams to the delight of the crowd. Perhaps most impressive of all, however, is the fact that, at some point during the high-energy two-hour set, Bey left the stage for a brief costume change and seemed to come back with an all-new manicure.

There's lots to unpack, and more time (and another viewing) is required, but one thing folks are still gobsmacked over is the sheer scale of the production, made possible with almost 100 dancers and band members who helped the pop star bring her homecoming to life. Several A-list Hollywood celebrities including Kim Kardashian, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Taylor Swift, Scarlett Johansson, Blake Lively and more have been seen styled by Olivier Rousteing's outfits. She had been set to headline previous year, but had to cancel due to pregnancy. She gave birth to twins Rumi and Sir in June.

Beyonce was the headlining act for the Saturday, April 14th and she did not fail to impress.
