Assumption Clinton would Triumph a Element in Re Search — Former FBI Mind

The former Secretary of State and her supporters have blamed Comey's 11th hour disclosure of the investigation for her loss. But for the most part, they weren't that far off track, particularly if you recall that she won the popular vote by more than two percent, and prescient observers noted before the election that Trump was in striking distance based on the polls.

While Comey doesn't divulge the information, many speculate whether the document relates to Lynch's infamous "tarmac meeting" with former President Bill Clinton just days before her Justice Department exonerated Hillary Clinton of any wrongdoing.

In addition to its evisceration of Trump - who is repeatedly likened to a mafia boss and labelled "unethical, and untethered to the truth and institutional values" - A Higher Loyalty offers a painstaking recounting of the Clinton emails saga, which Comey calls "this very bad case". "Hindsight is always helpful, and if I had to do it over again, I would do some things differently", he wrote.

Mr. Comey said the F.B.I. did not contradict the Clinton campaign at the time because it was not yet appropriate to publicly confirm an investigation.

Yet in his book, Comey admits that at the July 2016 news conference, in which he spoke for more than 10 minutes about Clinton's poor email practices before announcing that the Federal Bureau of Investigation would not recommend that she be prosecuted, he might have buried the lede.

"I believed it was my duty to inform Congress that we were restarting the investigation", he writes about the October 2016 statement.

"Certainly not consciously, but I would be a fool to say it couldn't have had an impact on me", he wrote of the assumption, according to ABC News. When asked about if the letter had hurt Clinton, Comey told ABC: "I hope not".

"But", he wonders aloud, "I don't know". "From the Democratic side would come predictable stuff about my wanting the spotlight, being out of control, driven by ego".

He goes on to say the material is "a development still unknown to the American public to this day". What's being reported and what President Trump is tweeting about it.

"If I ever start considering who's political fortunes would be affected by a decision, we're done", Comey added, referencing the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
