Shenmue I & II Coming To Xbox One, PS4, & PC This Year

Now Sega has granted the wishes of everyone because Shenmue 1 and Shenmue 2 will be released later this year for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One consoles.

Re-releasing both games seems to be in preparation for the third entry in the series, which was originally revealed as a Kickstarter project back during Sony's E3 2015 conference. Before anyone really delivered an open-world experience Shenmue brought it to the limelight. It will appear on the PlayStation 4 in Japan, but will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC worldwide.

Modern features will include fully scalable screen resolution, modern and classic control schemes, updated user interface, and English/Japanese voiceovers. After all, since some consider the Shenmue franchise to be among the best video game stories ever told, it needed to be played by more people.

Shenmue I and II Remasters set for 2018 Release

Sega hasn't announced pricing details or an exact release date for Shenmue I & II, but the collection will be available at retail and digitally from the PlayStation and Xbox Stores, as well as Steam. Luckily, Shenmue III is expected to launch on PC in 2018 so the franchise may get another chance if the rerelease doesn't live up to expectations.

Shenmue I & II comes complete with the original feature set that defined modern gaming, including enthralling jujitsu combat, investigative sleuthing, and RPG elements in addition to memorable mini-games.

But it seems 2018 is going to be Shenmue year.
