World of Warcraft's 7th Expansion Launches August 14

Blizzard have confirmed their release plans for the World of Warcraft expansion, which will be launching this summer.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth looks to ratchet up the intensity between the Alliance and the Horde, as the conflict has waned over the past few expansions in the face of greater dangers that demanded unity.

The Battle for Azeroth Collector's Edition retails for $99.99. You'll be a witness to and participant in a reignited conflict between the Horde and Alliance, and both factions must mobilize their naval might. Players will need the main game and the Legion expansion to access Battle for Azeroth. Group battles can be enjoyed on the Island Expeditions, which Blizzard describes as "an ever-changing array of enemies, environments, and objectives", and there's also 20-player cooperative battles to be had in Warfront. The standard edition and digital deluxe edition will be available at $49.99 and $69.99, respectively. You'll also get the Mark of Allegiance, a hefty double sided coin to show where your loyalties lie - it's way bigger than you might think, weighing just under a pound.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is available now for pre-purchase. Alliance players can add the shadow-touched Void elves and valiant Lightforged draenei to their ranks, while members of the Horde will be able to bring the ancient Nightborne and noble Highmountain tauren into their faction's fold-with additional Allied Races to come in the future. Place it on your desk or shelf and proclaim your chosen faction to the world.

If you're a regular player of World of Warcraft, chances are you already pre-purchased this 7th expansion.

In addition to the in-game items from the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Collector's Edition contains a two-sided emblem with stand included, hardcover double-sided book Elegy & A Good War, and the digital soundtrack. Each story includes original artwork exclusive to this edition.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth Collector's Edition is available for preorder now. The last expansion for the iconic MMORPG, Legion, was released over two years ago in 2016, coinciding with the same year that the Warcraft movie adaptation was released. Prepurchasing gives player an immediate 110 level boost, " making it a flawless jumping-on point for new and returning players".
