Michael B Jordan to produce, possibly star in WWII drama

Hot off Black Panther, Michael B. Jordan has signed on to produce Warner Bros.' World War II drama THE LIBERATORS through his Outlier Society Productions banner, the Tracking Board has confirmed.

Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold are producing for Safehouse, while Alana Mayo and Jordan will produce for Outlier Society.

No word yet if Jordan will also star in the project, which is based on a spec script written by Madison Turner and tells the unknown story of the 761st regiment in World War II, an entirely African-American combat unit which spearheaded General Patton's third Army and helped liberate concentration camps.

It's unclear, at this point, if Jordan would star in The Liberators, as well as produce.

Even beyond the box office and critical success of Black Panther, Jordan continues to make his mark in the industry. The action/drama "The Liberators" addresses racism and focuses on 761st Tank Battalion which led to the desegregation of the military, according to a Monday, March 19 report from Variety. The film will be made in collaboration with Safehouse Pictures.

'In support of the women & men who are leading this fight, I will be adopting the Inclusion Rider for all projects produced by my company Outlier Society, ' he wrote.

Earlier this month, he had announced that he will adopt inclusion riders on all the films backed by his production house after this year's Best Actress Oscar victor Frances McDormand called to encourage diversity in Hollywood.

Other projects he is working on include the hourlong sci-fi family drama Raising Dion, which has a 10-episode straight-to-series order from Netflix, and The Thomas Crown Affair reboot that Jordan will star in.
