Amy Poehler Directing And Starring In Wine Country

The 46-year-old actress will make her directorial debut with the Netflix film Wine Country.

To mark the announcement, Netflix shared a video of Poehler and Co. on social media.

A release date for Wine Country has not been announced, but rest assured that it is coming soon.

Poehler has assembled an all-star lineup of fellow comedians for her project, with Rachel Dratch, Ana Gasteyer, Paula Pell, Maya Rudolph and Emily Spivey joining her on the call sheet.

Poehler's screen mate and real-life BFF Tina Fey has also bestowed the world with wine endorsements such as the ones below. Spivey wrote the screenplay for the film. The comedy, according to The Hollywood Reporter, will follow a group of pals traveling to Napa, California, for a 50th birthday party celebration.

I don't know about you, but I'm hoping for a Bridesmaids-esque comedy in "wine country".

We've been waiting for Netflix to make a big move like this for some time. "Wine Country" will be the first feature film directed by Poehler, who previously helmed the TV movie "Dumb Prince" and episodes of "Parks and Recreation" and "Broad City". According to the report, Poehler and the gang will be filming this spring.

That Netflix tweet also includes a priceless preview of the fun-with or without the help of wine-we can hope to see in Wine Country.
