You better believe QB Trevor Siemian is 'excited' to be joining Vikings

Entering this year's National Football League free agency, one of the most appealing players on the market was quarterback Kirk Cousins, as it was reported the Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos, New York Jets, and the Arizona Cardinals were all after his signature.

Cousins' agent, Mike McCartney, spoke at length with Peter King of The MMQB about the days and hours leading up to Cousins signing with the Minnesota Vikings.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The Minnesota Vikings have finalized their trade with the Denver Broncos for quarterback Trevor Siemian to be the backup to free agent prize Kirk Cousins. "Again, thrilled to be here".

Siemian, 26, was named the starting quarterback out of training camp each of the past two seasons.

Once free agency started, the Broncos went looking for a new quarterback.

The Vikings entered the 2018 offseason in a unique situation with quarterbacks Sam Bradford, Teddy Bridgewater and Case Keenum all having contracts that expired last week. Siemian said. "There's so many dimensions you can grow as a player, and that's what keeps it exciting".

Siemian took over as the starter for the retired Peyton Manning on the Broncos in his second season of 2016. For his career, Siemian has 30 touchdowns and 24 interceptions with a 59.3 percent completion rate.

He struggled at times and hurt his shoulder, which he had surgery on nearly three months ago.
