Shia LaBeouf on Georgia arrest: 'I f-ked up'

When asked about some his outbursts and drunken tirades, LaBeouf expressed shame and regret, but he also touched upon some of the things in his past that may have driven some of those unsavory events. "I need to take ownership of my s-t and clean up my side of the street a bit before I can go out there and work again, so I'm trying to stay creative and learn from my mistakes", he said.

In a self-reflective interview that spanned from his conception to the most recent events in his life, LaBeouf talked about some of his highlights, past traumas, and regrets, along with some opportunities he passed on - including The Social Network.

LaBeouf says he was diagnosed with PTSD at rehab, stemming from childhood trauma. "It was me trying to absolve myself of guilt for getting arrested", LaBeouf admitted. "The truth is, in my desperation, I lost the plot".

LaBeouf apologized a few days after his arrest saying he was "deeply ashamed" of his behavior.

'McEnroe was a master at his rage, ' the Even Stevens alum noted.

In an interview with Esquire, the Transformers actor explained when he was "about ten" he heard his mother being attacked and "froze".

"I'm a buffoon", LaBeouf continued. It's the same feeling of "You need to avenge your mother" he says contributed to his first arrest when he went after a man who "bumped into my mother's vehicle with his auto in a parking lot". "They're not strategic. They're a struggling motherf-ker showing his a- in front of the world". "She is, of course, obsessed with Kanye West". When I brought her backstage, he was a fucking sweetheart to her. "He took all my fucking clothes". And it just felt fair. In a stirring cover story profile with Esquire, the 31-year-old actor confronts his demons in a real way and reveals his curious connection to Kanye West. So I'm like, "Go for it, my guy".

LaBeouf added that he and West "haven't really been in contact since he blew up onstage and, you know, shit on me", referring to West's mid-concert meltdown during a 2016 performance in Sacramento. He says he tried to reach out after that show, but that Ye is "going through a lot".
