Heather Locklear domestic violence charges dropped

The actress, 56 years old, was arrested, hospitalized and placed in police custody after being beaten with his may.

Sgt. Eric Buschow of Ventura County Sheriff's Office told the Los Angeles Times that more police officers had to be called to Locklear's property in Thousand Oaks, California, because she was proving so hard to detain and get into a police patrol auto, becoming "combative" when officers attempted to use force.

She was originally arrested last month on domestic violence charge.

She was arrested on felony domestic violence charges against her current boyfriend Chris Heisser, which have since been dropped, but Locklear is still facing four counts of misdemeanour battery and one count of obstruction for resisting arrest when officers arrived to detain her.

Locklear's representatives did not immediately reply to requests for comment.

The actress allegedly told police officers their children "deserve...to die" before threatening to shoot them in a profanity-filled rant during her arrest in late February, a Saturday report stated. Locklear's attorney appeared on her behalf at Tuesday's court hearing.

On Feb. 25, Locklear's brother called 911 to report a fight between Locklear and Heisser. She's also facing one charge of resisting or obstructing an officer.

Heather also screamed, "You f****** deserve your kids to die!" You f-- deserve it! I was part of his unconditional, and I am sure you will too. Police learned during their investigation that Locklear purchased a gun in 1985 and registered it under her name.

Authorities took the threat seriously and later served a search warrant for a weapon at her home. The "Rehab Card" is a common practice used by celebrities who have encountered legal problems and face potential jail time after an ugly substance abuse riddled encounter with the police.
