YouTube's 'Dark Mode' feature arrives on iOS devices

That's certainly the case with YouTube's "Dark theme", which arrives today on the iOS version of the app.

YouTube is finally giving its mobile app a dark theme, almost a year after the Google subsidiary introduced the night-friendly mode on desktop. Lo and behold, YouTube for Android and iOS is finally gaining the elusive dark mode, reports The Verge. The dark theme for YouTube is pretty easy to open: you just need to head over to the app's settings and enable the Dark Theme toggle. It certainly is weird that iOS is getting the dark theme before Android, given that YouTube and Android are both developed by Google.

Dark themes on mobile have become more popular in recent times with services like Twitter, Reddit and Telegram embracing the dark theme.

Ever since Google included a dark mode for YouTube on desktop, it was only a matter of time until the feature would be supported on the mobile app. The playback screen featured a more consistent skinning, and we already saw developers fine-tuning the shades of dark gray tones being employed.
