John McEntee, the former UConn quarterback whose trick shot video became a viral sensation in 2011, was sacked from his job as personal assistant to President Donald Trump on Monday, according to multiple reports. He indicated to his colleagues it may have been about his background check.

He discovered "at least 35 officials" who "inappropriately" received top secret clearance.

One day after getting escorted off the White House grounds by security, John McEntee was hired by President Donald Trump's reelection campaign. It also comes after communications director Hope Hicks and economic advisor Gary Cohn left their posts.

Trump's 2020 Republican campaign announced Tuesday that he will serve as a senior adviser for campaign operations.

McEntee was an early Trump assistant in the presidential campaign. His responsibilities consisted of having markers for Trump to sign autographs, delivering messages to the residence and ensuring the clocks in the White House residence were adjusted for daylight-savings.
