Klopp rues ´clear penalty´ not being given after Liverpool loss

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp felt his side were denied a late match-saving penalty at Old Trafford but accepted that defensive errors had also cost his side.

'I don't think anybody could have had a big argument about the draw. The mistakes were obvious - around the second balls we were not there and we can not leave Dejan [Lovren] alone in the challenge there and nobody's around for the second ball.

"In the second half we chased the game which against a team like Manchester United is really hard".

Reds defender Virgil van Dijk admits he was left "frustrated" by Liverpool's inability to break down United despite having the majority of possession for large periods of the game.

"When United attack, I hope all my players are involved in defending".

I think he's a bit fed up with all of the suggestions that he can't deliver in the big games but I think it has something which has been caused by something out of his control - Manchester United's tactics against the top six.
