Jahan accuses brother-in-law of raping her at husband Shami's behest

On March 8, Hasin - who alleged that her husband is having illicit affairs with several women - claimed that Shami (on his way back from South Africa last month) had stayed at a hotel in Dubai while the rest of his teammates returned to India.

Last week, based on Hasin's complaint of domestic violence and infidelity - the Kolkata Police booked Shami and four of his family members under various non-bailable and bailable sections.

Shami and Jahan got married in 2014. Shami took to Twitter to thank his friends for their love and support. "He came back to India the next day", she had said.

According to an ESPNCricinfo report, Shami's wife Hasin Jahan, accused him and his family of attempting to kill her by giving her a heavy dose of sleeping pills.

Notably, Shami's wife had uploaded various chat screenshots with girls and pictures from the mentioned mobile phone, she claims belongs to Shami but the player has refused to possess the gadget and keeps blaming the entire fiasco to a mere misunderstanding on Jahan's part.

Shami has been charged under various non-bailable and bailable sections of the IPC, including Section 498A, which deals with cruelty to a woman by her husband or his relatives, Section 307 - attempt to murder, Section 323 - punishment for voluntarily causing hurt, Section 376 - rape, Section 506 - criminal intimidation, Section 328 and Section 34. "There have been many accusations which are increasing day-by-day".

I refuse to believe the allegations that have been leveled by Shami's wife.

"I am exhausted of repeating myself again and again. I have proof", Jahan had told a TV channel.

Mohammed Hassan said, "We don't know much about this spat and Shami is a great personality".

On match fixing charges, he had said, "I will prefer to die than involved in such anti-national act".

Allegations just don't seem to be coming to an end against the Indian fast bowler Mohammad Shami. Meanwhile, Shami has expressed his devastation to the media and claimed to resolve the matter with Jahan. "Only a patch up will do good for us and our daughter". I have never been told by Shami for what goal that money was given. I think the contract should go on because as far as the cricketer's ability is concerned, it has nothing to do with it.
