Fantastic Beasts 2: The Crimes of Grindelwald trailer and cast

Fantastic Beasts announced via Twitter that the trailer will be released on Tuesday, March 13.

Set after the events of the first Fantastic Beasts movie but decades before Harry Potter's parents were born, the action moves from NY to Paris, where a young Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) enlists his former student and magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his friends to help track down the villainous Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp). Sure, we've seen some stills and a title reveal but we haven't seen any real footage from the film...

After the events of the previous movie (which, spoilers, people were NOT who they seemed to be), the powerful dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was been captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America), with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). Ever-wily, Grindelwald managed to escape and is now hellbent on gathering new followers to his cause (which mostly consists of a burning desire to raise up pureblood wizards over all others). The cast also includes, Zoë Kravitz, Callum Turner, Claudia Kim, William Nadylam, Kevin Guthrie, Carmen Ejogo, and Poppy Corby-Tuech. The film will be directed by David Yates from a script by JK Rowling, who also produces with David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram. Out to stop him are magical zoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), teaming up with his old Hogwarts professor, a brown-haired Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law), who was actually friends with Grindelwald when the two were younger. It arrives in theaters on November 16. Here's Leaky's #WandsReady photo from on set of the Fantastic Beasts film (no sharing yet, sadly)! Pictures, a Warner Bros.
