Dolphins reportedly agree to terms with former Patriots receiver Danny Amendola

After taking pay cuts to stay with the Patriots each of the last few offseasons, receiver Danny Amendola is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins, a league source confirmed.

The deal is reportedly good for two years, $12 million.

In five seasons with the Patriots, Amendola played in three Super Bowls, winning two, proving to be a valuable weapon in the New England offense. catching 230 passes in the regular season and another 57 in the postseason with a total of 18 touchdowns.

He handled 27 of New England's punt returns last season, contributing 231 return yards, which averages out to 8.6 yards per return.

Free agents can not officially sign with teams until NFL Free Agency begins on Wednesday at 4pm, but this news will certainly be hard to take for New England fans.

As for New England's receivers heading into 2018, they have Brandin Cooks, Julian Edelman (who should be back after missing the 2017 season), Chris Hogan, Phillip Dorsett and Malcolm Mitchell under contract.

And so, the Dolphins suddenly have a logjam at receiver.

Miami is overhauling its receiving corps this offseason after trading Jarvis Landry to the Browns and agreeing to sign former Chiefs wideout Albert Wilson.
