CM Punk Confirms His UFC Return

The Chicago native dropped another hint when he re-tweeted post by the UFC.

Although CM Punk's UFC debut didn't go as planned, he is set to return to the Octagon.

Punk (0-1-0) made his professional MMA debut well over a year ago at UFC 203, suffering a first round TKO loss to Mickey Gall.

At the time of this writing, it is unknown who Punk's opponent for UFC 225 is going to be.

June 9 is, of course, the date of UFC 225 in Chicago. After the ECW experiment ended, Punk's career took off as he would win a total of five world championships, including a 434-day reign with the WWE Championship in 2011. While having a hometown favourite with tremendous mainstream exposure on a UFC main card makes sense, the UFC has not yet confirmed that Punk will indeed be fighting at UFC 225. Mayweather has teased boxing and MMA fans by releasing videos of him in the Octagon and UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has said that he will be training Mayweather in Las Vegas. He took on the young and talented prospect, Mickey Gall and was unable to land a single punch in the two minutes and fourteen seconds that the fight lasted before Punk tapped out to a rear-naked-choke. However, in recent months, no doubt because the UFC is once again struggling to produce stars, promotion president Dana White has been signing a different tune.

Punk hasn't fought since UFC 203 back in September 2016 when he suffered a brutal submission loss in the 1st round to Gall.
