The straight-to-series order comes three months after HBO gave an official greenlight to a Big Little Lies sequel, bringing back Kidman, Kelley, and Papandrea as well as star and executive producer Reese Witherspoon and most of the first miniseries' original cast. But her life is rocked by a series of tragedies: a violent death, the disappearance of her husband and "a chain of awful revelations" about the man she thought she knew.

Papandrea's Made Up Stories produced in its first-year Jennifer Kent's The Nightingale, Abe Forsythe's Little Monsters (starring Lupita Nyong'o and Josh Gad) and the TNT pilot Deadlier Than The Male written by Harriet Warner and directed by Caméra d'Or victor Houda Benyamina. Kidman's Blossom Films partner Per Saari will also exec produce.

The story follows Grace Sachs who is living the only life she ever wanted for herself.

First, Reese Witherspoon announced a new Hulu series with Kerry Washington.

Whilst Kelley added: "I loved this book".

Kidman won an Emmy for her performance in Big Little Lies.

"David has created another propulsive series with a fascinating, complicated female role at its center", Kidman said in a statement.

For HBO, The Undoing joins a roster of drama originals that also includes Game of Thrones, Westworld, The New Pope, J.J.

David E. Kelley, creator of Boston Legal, Chicago Hope, The Practice, and Ally McBeal, wrote and executive-produced Big Little Lies, along with Kidman and Papandrea. Abrams' Demimonde, Jordan Peele's Lovecraft Country, True Detective, Sharp Objects, The Deuce and Here and Now, among others.
