Bears, Allen Robinson agree on 3-year, $42M contract, WR says

The Bears are expected to sign WR Allen Robinson. This is a vulnerable spot for them but the team has a ton of cap space and could be letting him set his own market. I mentioned this on the free agent primer podcast we did last week, saying that he wouldn't have competition for targets with the Bears, whereas if he went to the 49ers, he'd be competing for targets with Pierre Garcon, Marquise Goodwin, and even Trent Taylor at times.

Robinson tore his ACL in the first game of the season past year and will be recovering from knee surgery.

Just like Meredith and Bellamy, slot corner Bryce Callahan earned an original round tender at $1.907 million from the Bears on Monday.

Through his first three offseasons Pace's free-agent track record isn't good.

As you might expect, the Bears' first big free-agent agreement was cut with the guy who missed nearly all of last season because of a knee injury. A corner-needy team could come calling for Callahan's services.

The Bears, who haven't had a 1,000-yard receiver since 2014, struggled to replace former cornerstone Alshon Jeffery following his departure in free agency. Enough so, that the team announced that the 28-year-old has been re-signed for two more years. Sowell has 23 starts to his name in six National Football League seasons. An accrued season is one in which the player is on a team's active roster for at least six games. Scales missed the 2017 season with a torn ACL but was the Bears' long snapper in all 16 games in 2016. The Bears have zero specialists under contract with no kicker or punter as well.

Knowing their current state, Robinson likely landed in the optimal offense to succeed from a production standpoint.
