Apple announces WWDC, opens registration for developers

WWDC 2018 will run from June 4 through June 8 and take place in San Jose, California for the second year in a row.

Apple today announced its next developer conference scheduled for this June.

It's going to be interesting to see how Apple talks up iOS 12. Both have been well discussed in the rumour mill with reports originating from Bloomberg about a merger of iOS and macOS apps on the macOS side, and a focus on stability on the iOS side. Not everyone will be able to purchase them, though, as they'll be offered by random selection. Students can now visit the WWDC website for details on how to apply. Tickets are priced at US$1,599. The new version, iOS 12, will reportedly emphasize reliability and performance instead of new features after iOS 11's bug-beset rollout. The McEnery Convention Center will once again be home to Apple's developers from across the world. Cook has personally touted the growth potential of augmented reality, so it's likely that Apple's plans for AR will remain on the agenda for WWDC 2018.

The San Jose-based developer conference is nearly certainly where Apple will reveal next milestone software updates: iOS 12, MacOS 10.14, watchOS 5 and tvOS 12.
