Realtech VR are in charge of the remasters, having previously ported Tomb Raider 1 and 2 to mobile, and will base the Steam remasters on these versions.

TR1-3 remaster for PC are planned for Steam for free and will requires the purchase of the DOS version being sold on Steam (like ZDoom playing Doom games).

Tomb Raider when it released was one of the first third person action adventure game, and has since been hailed as a revolutionary game. OpenVR support is also promised, though the extent of this support is not now clear.

The developer Realtech VR, which was founded back in 2008 has mostly been working on games for the iOS. The PC version will also support OpenVR, featuring a new 3D engine for all three games.

The remastered versions of Tomb Raider 1, 2, and 3 have not been given a release date yet but we'll keep you posted. Since TR classic is on Steam, we will use the game data from there.

The updated remasters will be free for those who already own the original DOS games on Steam.

Furthermore, these remasters properly support Xbox 360/One controllers, include the Unfinished Business & The Golden Mask DLC packs, and come with numerous bug fixes.

A set release date has not been announced yet by the developers, but they are saying at least that they have already finished porting the first two games and are now working on the third installment. You can check out the exchange on Twitter where Realtech VR confirmed these remasters below.
