Norm Macdonald Getting His Own Netflix Talk Show

Macdonald tweeted the news in the form of a simulated text exchange between him and Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos, and Vulture confirmed it. McDonald will co-produce the ten-episode series, and Adam Eget, Norm's sidekick from his podcast and web series Norm MacDonald Live, will also feature on the show.

Soon after Joel McHale, Michelle Wolf and Hasan Minhaj joined the list of comedians helming talk shows with Netflix. He anchored Saturday Night Live's "Weekend Update" in the mid-'90s, hosted Comedy Central's Sports Show With Norm MacDonald in 2011, and now voices a gelatinous engineer on Fox's The Orville and an alcoholic pigeon on Adult Swim's Mike Tyson Mysteries. The description of the series states that Macdonald will interview one celebrity guest per episode and it will also go behind-the-scenes into "Norm's world". Norm Macdonald Has a Show on Netflix.

The show is produced by Macdonald's Anchor Spud Productions with Pygmy Wolf Productions and in association with Lionsgate Television.

Co showrunning and EP'ing along with Norm is Lori Jo Koekstra, along with EPs K.P. Anderson and Daniel Kellison.

Netflix has been aggressively pushing into the talk space of late. He is known for his five seasons as a cast member on Saturday Night Live, which included anchoring Weekend Update for three years. Letterman, who has his own Netflix talk show, will serve as a creative partner - or as he jokingly refers to his role in the press release, a "location scout" - on the series.
