Apple to ditch the notch with the 2019 iPhone model

Citing unnamed sources, the publication has reported that the 2019 iPhones will "completely fill the front of new iPhones". The new design that Apple may adopt is very likely to inspire Android smartphone OEMs to launch similar full screen design phones.

According to a report on Technobuffalo, the image of LG G7 (Neo) shows a notch on the top of the display of the smartphone.

However, there aren't any other details available about how Apple will tuck in all the sensors now seen on the iPhone X notch which includes front-facing camera, separate infrared camera to deploy FaceID, microphone, speaker, proximity sensor, dot projector, flood illuminator and ambient light sensor.

Apple's implementation of the notch in iPhone X was praiseworthy on numerous counts both critically and commercially. We don't expect to see the notch disappear from the second-gen iPhone X releasing this year.

While Android smartphone makers are getting swept up in notch fever, Apple has apparently been busy figuring out ways to get rid of the interruption.

"Suppliers are interested in how Apple will be able to place receiver, front-camera, and Face ID feature and implement full-screen at the same time".

A new speed test has revealed how Apple throttles some old iPhone models, and why you may want to take advantage of its discounted battery replacement scheme. The other method that Apple may consider for delivering full screen experience is by creating a small hole on the display for certain functions.

The removal of the notch from the 2019 iPhones will allow them to sport a higher screen-to-body ratio than the iPhone X.

Some users called the notch "bad design" or, as one reviewer called it, 'a visually disgusting element'.

Last month, Apple informed developers that all apps submitted to the App Store will have to support the iPhone X's contentious notch design.

On the contrary, there have been many companies that are applying notch design to their Smartphones. As for this year, Apple is already reportedly prepping three new iPhone models, which will come in 5.85-inch and 6.46-inch OLED displays, and a 6.04-inch LCD display.
